Fridge Cleaning With Vinegar: A Simple Fix To A Sticky Situation

Fridge Cleaning With Vinegar: A Simple Fix To A Sticky Situation
By: Emaids Dev

Your refrigerator should always be clean to keep your food fresh. But what's the best way to clean your fridge? You don't want all those chemicals from store-bought cleaners anywhere near the food your family eats!

Lucky for you, there is another way! Check out how to clean your refrigerator with vinegar.

How to clean your refrigerator with vinegar and water

A simple way to clean your fridge is by making a cleaning solution with vinegar and water. This homemade cleaner is easy to make and will always help with any quick spill.

First, make your cleaning solution

To create your homemade cleaning solution, grab a spray bottle and fill it with three parts water and one part white vinegar—if the water is warm, much better.

That's it. Quick and easy, right? Now, grab your spray bottle and get ready to clean your fridge!

Step 1. Take out the food

You don't want vinegar all over your fresh food, right? So, grab a cooler and start unpacking your fridge.

Taking out the food will give you the freedom to clean without being too cautious about what you shove out of the way.

Step 2. Clean the shelves and drawers

If you skip this step, you'll be contorting to wipe the bottom of the shelves or kneeling and bending over to reach the back of the drawers. Who wants to end with back pain after cleaning their refrigerator?

So, remove all the fridge parts you can, including every drawer, shelf, and rack. Then, spray the vinegar solution freely and wipe down everything with a microfiber cloth.

Step 3. Clean the walls of the refrigerator

Cleaning the refrigerator without the removable parts will give you more access to the walls themselves!

You can spray directly onto the surfaces; however, it may not work well if the solution keeps running down the walls. So, try spraying the solution on a clean cloth until it's damp, then wipe the walls of your fridge.

Step 4. Return everything to its place

Now that your fridge is squeaky clean, you can return everything to its place. Start by reinstalling the shelves, racks, and drawers, and finish by restocking the food.

That's it! Your fridge is ready to go back to keeping your food fresh.

Are you dealing with stuck-on food residue?

Have you tried the vinegar and water solution, but there are still stuck-on stains in the refrigerator? Don't worry; here's a solution for them too:

Before you put everything back in the fridge, sprinkle baking soda on the stubborn grime and scrub it with a wet sponge (if the stains are on the walls, you can pour the baking soda directly on the sponge). Once you're done scrubbing, wipe those spots with the vinegar solution.

Pro hack: Baking soda is also great for removing odors. If you want to prevent foul smells down the line, you can leave a small container with baking soda inside your fridge!
